China Telecom (Europe) Ltd. shares expertise at MVNOs World Congress 2020
15 September 2020
For the third year in a row, China Telecom (Europe) Ltd. (CTE) was invited to take part in MVNOs World Congress, the world’s largest conference for mobile virtual network operators, this year held virtually. The Congress gathers major players in the market and industry authorities to share expert, unique and ground-breaking insights and case studies, and discuss industry development through round tables and seminars.
This year, the Congress focused on the future directions and prospects for 5G. China Telecom, as a leader in China’s mobile communications technology, took the opportunity to share their latest business ideas and development plans.
Hui XIE, Deputy Director of CTE’s Mobile Business Department, joined a panel with German operator freenet Group and US operator US Mobile, to discuss how 5G operators can co-operate with MVNO customers, and how existing partnerships can benefit from 5G access.
Ms XIE described the development of China Telecom’s 5G technology, including the substantial increase in 5G users’ share of the market in China, and the rapid development of China’s IoT infrastructure. She reviewed the set-up and improvement of the 5G mobile communication ecosystem and how it has captured the attention and prompted debate within European and American operators. The three panellists closed the session with a discussion of business opportunities for 5G.
CTE looks forward to working with European and US partners to bring China Telecom’s 5G technology and business model to Europe as part of China Telecom’s overseas growth.
