As they begin a new partnership, Lamda Hellix and China Telecom Europe Ltd. (CTE) have launched a new point of presence (PoP) at Lamda Hellix Athens Data Centre Campus on the outskirts of Athens.
CTE’s new Athens PoP is their first in Greece. It will give local organisations the fast, secure, physical and digital networks they need to establish a commercial presence in the Chinese market. The new partnership is part of CTE’s Digital Silk Road initiative, the modern equivalent of the ancient Silk Road trading route, which aims to break down geographical and commercial borders between China, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Chinese and Asian companies seeking safe ways to expand their business portfolio in Europe, while complying with all elements of European data rules (GDPR), can now find reliable access through Lamda Hellix, the leading neutral data centre provider in South-East Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Charlie Cao, Managing Director from CTE, said: “Over the past few years we have seen more and more Chinese enterprises looking for a trustworthy gateway to the digital spectrum in Europe. Our new PoP in the Lamda Hellix Data Centre marks the start of a new era for our commercial operations. We are investing in the Digital Silk Road while steadily creating a large bandwidth, multi-route, high-quality, low-latency, controllable communications network across Europe and Asia.”
Alexandros Bechrakis, Chief Commercial & Technology Officer at Lamda Hellix, said: “China’s entrepreneurial spirit is leading the global economy to new levels of collaboration and synergy. We are delighted to become China’s gateway to western markets. Our award-winning data centres, with their cutting-edge technology, are among the most advanced in Europe. Combined with our well-trained people, we now offer Chinese companies seeking new commercial opportunities a truly reliable European partner.”
