With the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey, China Telecom (Europe) was pleased to participate in the Culture and Business Development Forum that took place from the 5th to 7th of August 2021.
It was an event jointly organised by the Turkish China Business Development and Support Association and the China Industry and Businessmen’s Association.
There were several esteemed attendees at the opening ceremony including Yavuz Selim Kiran, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, Shaobin Liu, China’s Ambassador to Ankara and Counselor Liu Yuhua. In addition, Ren Hongbin, China’s Assistant Minister of Commerce participated remotely in the online component of the Forum.
The Forum attracted representatives from 55+ Chinese and Turkish firms and organisations from industries including finance, logistics, technology, manufacturing, mining and more. There were over 1,000+ people participating in the event that happened both in-person at the Congresium in Ankara and an online forum portal.
At the opening ceremony, Xiao Wei, the General Manager of China Telecom (Turkey), spoke about the Digital Silk Road that China Telecom (Europe) has been committed to build and expand upon on China Telecom’s global submarine and land cable system, combined with DICT integration capabilities and cloud transformation. He focused on how our technology allows for the provision of tailor-made Eurasian full-service communication solutions to local businesses and political institutions. This technology enables an efficient and reliable platform for business cooperation between China and Turkey with a full range of services including cloud transformation and cross border communication integration.
During the event, China Telecom (Europe) was available in-person to all attendees at our booth that highlighted our Digital Silk Road to China and APAC region. In our booth, visitors could see a full map of all our infrastructure services. Our team was on hand to answer any questions. As part of the Forum, we also had an online presence where people could contact us to know more about our business with digital content such as videos, maps and brochures.
At the Forum, China Telecom (Europe) won the “Outstanding Representative Enterprise in Economy and Trade for the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Turkey” award, issued by the Turkish government.
China Telecom (Europe) will continue to strengthen our engagement with local Turkish industry partners and government representatives beyond this Forum. We look forward to helping multinational enterprises and organisations with their challenges around technology and telecommunications to provide comprehensive solutions with our Digital Silk Road between Turkey – European market and China – Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
